I am posting these thoughts on Valentine’s Day, which feels perfect because I love Brookdale’s mission of enriching the lives of those we serve. I love that our dedicated and committed associates are focusing on what matters most for thousands and thousands of our residents and patients - every single day! And I love that we are making a difference, one relationship at a time.
There’s a lot to look forward to in 2019, including our “Pardon Our Progress” campaign, in which we will make significant investments in capital expenditures at Brookdale communities throughout the country. These include major building infrastructure projects necessary to support our operations strategy and to protect the value of our portfolio. These projects are an investment in the future, helping to delight our residents and provide good opportunities for our associates.
This year, we’ll focus on the things that will support us as a trusted source of services and care for America’s seniors. We’ll continue our work to improve all phases of the customer experience – from researching, contacting and visiting our communities to moving in and enjoying all that Brookdale offers. Ours is a relationship business and we are focused on providing a best-in-class experience.
You know, I grew up believing that anything was possible if you just worked hard enough. And I see our teams working hard, coming together to win together, like a family does. It is truly an honor to be part of an organization that is improving so many lives, to see that the relationships are sincere and deep. It is truly moving to see the genuine affection between our associates and our residents and patients.
My vision is to build an organization that lasts forever because our mission is so important. And I see so many of us moving forward together, shoulder to shoulder, during this year of focusing on our residents, patients, and associates through improved operations and leveraging opportunities based upon our size and strength.
So, I am excited about 2019 and Brookdale’s future, and I hope you are, too!
