A representative from the Employer Support of The Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Committee), Bill Rheingans, presented two Brookdale associates, Paul Boede, accounting supervisor, and Scott Wollner, accounting manager, with a Patriot Award in recognition of their extraordinary support of one of their employees serving in the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
The presentation took place at the Brookdale Corporate Office in Milwaukee on October 17th.
According to the ESGR, the Patriot Award is only presented to employers who not only hire Guard and Reserve members but demonstrate superior support to the military employee and his/her family.
“They were nominated for this prestigious national award by their team member, Captain Jeffrey Kim,” said Bill. “Mr. Boede and Mr. Wollner provided outstanding support and cooperation and have exhibited a patriotic spirit which is reflected in the significance of receiving the award.”
ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
At the award presentation, Scott and Paul shared, “Even though our names are on this award, this is more of a team award. Having a strong team like we do, it helps ease the burden and allows us to support Jeff. This is a great example of our cornerstones at work, specifically passion and partnership.” Scott and Paul are honored to receive the Patriot Award. It means a lot to them to be recognized for their support of our service men and women.
