Brookdale President & Chief Executive Officer Cindy Baier joined in on the excitement this week at Brookdale Stonestreet in Louisville, Ky., as the community held the first of its three COVID-19 vaccination clinics. Demonstrating leadership, Baier rolled up her sleeve along with the residents and associates who were glad to be among the first in the nation to receive the vaccine. Senior living residents and community employees are included in the federal government’s highest priority category for vaccination.

Baier reports that it didn’t hurt, took about twenty minutes (including observation time afterward) and that she is very pleased to share this historic moment with Brookdale’s residents and associates. She said, “This vaccine program has the potential to significantly improve outcomes for residents, a population who are at high risk if they contract COVID-19. We believe Brookdale’s participation in this program allows us the potential to have a significant impact on helping our nation’s seniors, so we are prepared to make the investment required to administer it at scale.” She added, “This vaccination program is another step along the way to help keep our residents as safe as possible. We have over 40 years of experience with infectious disease control.”
